The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly pronounced due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This can result in significant chassis bending and twisting, or bodywork deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps further connect the mounting points at the rear of the vehicle.
