The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly pronounced when the body’s weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in greater deformation and flexing of the chassis or bodywork, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flexing while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing rear lower chassis brace is designed to increase the stiffness of the rear section of the bodywork.
