The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly pronounced due to the transfer of bodyweight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer while cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This can result in significant deformation and flexing of the chassis or bodywork, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flexing while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps increase the rigidity of this part of the vehicle.
