A car’s chassis is subjected to heavy loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in greater deformation and twisting of the chassis, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps increase the stiffness of this part of the bodywork.
