The rear lower chassis brace is designed to reduce body flex and increase chassis rigidity during dynamic driving. It is mounted at 2 points.
During fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration, the vehicle’s chassis is subjected to high loads caused by the transfer of the body’s weight.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This causes greater chassis flex or body deformation, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis flex and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
