The car’s chassis is the part of the vehicle that is subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This can result in significant chassis flex or body deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This rear lower chassis brace has 8 mounting points and is intended to increase the rigidity of the rear section of the body.
Suitable for: Volvo S60 I (P2).
