The car’s chassis is subjected to heavy loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of mass can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing rear torsion bar is designed to provide additional reinforcement for the rear section of the chassis and limit these unwanted movements.
