The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can result in significant bending and twisting of the chassis or body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Bending and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing two-point rear torsion bar is designed to provide additional chassis reinforcement.
