The vehicle chassis is subjected to high loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, hard braking and acceleration.
When driving through a corner, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This causes the chassis to flex and the body to deform, resulting in reduced tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and flexing in corners can cause poorer handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing rear torsion bar is designed to provide additional chassis reinforcement.
