The vehicle body is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident during weight transfer when cornering quickly, braking hard or accelerating.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in significant bending and twisting of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The rear upper strut brace connects the upper mounting points of the rear suspension and further reinforces the bodywork in this area.
