The oil catch can kit removes oil mist from the engine ventilation system, while the oil can be drained and reused. It is designed for installation on 2.0-litre FSi/TFSI/TSI engines without a charcoal filter.
Excess crankcase pressure is routed through the PCV system from the engine to the intake manifold, from where the air is returned to the engine. This air contains oil mist from the crankcase, which is then burned in the engine. On turbocharged engines, the PCV system can draw considerable quantities of oil into the engine.
Important compatibility information
The kit with part number FMMK5CT is intended for vehicles without a charcoal filter. The filter is installed in the front section of the engine bay, on the left-hand side when facing the open bonnet. Vehicles equipped with this filter require the other version of the kit with part number FMMK5CTC.
For SEAT Leon Cupra 2.0 TFSI engines, the kit is not suitable for engine codes CCTA and CBFA. The supplier also lists the product for the VW Golf Mk5 GTI and VW Golf Mk5 Edition 30.
