The oil catch can kit is designed for the Toyota Supra A90 and BMW Z4 with the BMW B58 engine. It was developed to capture as much harmful contamination as possible, including oil deposits, unburnt fuel vapours and moisture that would otherwise be returned to the engine intake system.
More heavily modified B58 engines can experience increased blow-by past the piston rings, which can impair engine ventilation. The specially designed oil catch can system and extensive testing have shown that it effectively reduces the build-up of sludge and carbon deposits. The engine can therefore breathe more easily and operate more efficiently, making the product particularly suitable for vehicles planned for further performance modifications.
The installation in the engine bay was also taken into account during development. The bracket is built into the oil catch can lid, which is mounted behind the factory airbox heat shield, so the shield can remain in place.
The 0.4 l (400 cm³) oil catch can has several features for simple checking and emptying, including a dipstick for checking the level.
The breather adapter and oil catch can were designed using the latest SolidWorks 3D modelling software. The kit allows direct installation without cutting or modifying the original components, so the vehicle can be returned to factory condition in less than an hour.
The inner hose is made from smooth, fuel-resistant, anti-static nitrile rubber. For additional protection, it is covered with reinforced stainless steel wire braiding, with partial inner and full outer braiding. This design provides resistance to pressure-induced stretching and vacuum-induced collapse, and allows operation in a temperature range from 54 °C to +150 °C (-65 °F to 300 °F).
The kit also includes machined fittings made from an aluminium block, anodised black for an appearance matching the factory equipment.
Suitable for: BMW Z4 III (G29), Toyota Supra V (DB).
