This front subframe brace connects the left and right sides of the subframe. Vauxhall fitted the vehicle with a brace as standard, but at only 2 mm thick, it is not rigid enough and can even be bent by hand.
The brace is made from solid 10 mm-thick stainless steel, so it will not rust. It is installed using the bolts removed from the original brace, while installation is straightforward and does not even require removal of the lower engine cover. It further stiffens both sides of the subframe and prevents them from flexing inwards when accelerating quickly through corners, helping to maintain wheel alignment geometry.
A simple and sensible upgrade for the Vauxhall Corsa.
