Racingline turbo inlet hose – EA888 Gen.4 EVO (245PS, Garrett turbocharger models)

The Racingline Turbo Inlet System (VWR120003) kit is designed for 2.0 TSI Gen.4 “Evo” engines in the 245PS version with a Garrett turbocharger. It is used, among others, in the VW Golf 8 GTI, Audi A3 40 TFSI, Cupra Leon and Škoda Octavia vRS.

The original turbo inlet hose is one of the main restrictions on airflow in these vehicles. Air must pass through a narrow plastic hose with bellows, after which the diameter is reduced further at the plastic turbocharger inlet. This restriction limits the engine, especially when combined with a high-flow intake system.

Designed for unrestricted airflow

The kit replaces the restrictive original parts with a matched pair of components: a large Turbo 90 inlet and a reinforced silicone hose. Together, they create a smooth, uninterrupted air path directly to the turbocharger.

The internal diameter increases from 62.5 mm in the original part to 76 mm with the Racingline product. This large diameter can only be achieved by replacing both components, enabling improved airflow.

Kit contents

• Turbo 90 Inlet: CNC-machined from aircraft-grade T6-6061 aluminium, with a very thin wall and an internal velocity stack for smoother air entry into the turbocharger. Sealing is provided by a Viton sealing ring.
• Silicone turbo inlet hose: reinforced for greater resistance to deformation under heat and pressure loads in the engine bay.
• Weight: 1.32 kg

Effect on performance

Removing the restriction can improve throttle response, speed up boost build-up and slightly reduce turbo lag – the short delay before the turbocharger begins to generate boost pressure. On a standard vehicle, the differences are moderate, but they become more noticeable when combined with a high-flow intake system or a modified ECU.

Installation is straightforward and can usually be completed in around 30 minutes using basic hand tools.

Compatibility

The kit is intended for VW Group 2.0 TSI EA888 Gen.4 “Evo” engines with 245PS and a Garrett turbocharger. It is not suitable for versions with an IS38 turbocharger or for more powerful versions.
