The chassis, or body, is the part of the car that is subjected to the greatest loads during sports driving. High loads occur mainly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and intense acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This can cause significant body flex and deformation, resulting in reduced tyre grip.
Chassis flex and deformation when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace is designed to provide additional chassis reinforcement and reduce flex.
