A vehicle’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident from the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in significant deformation and flexing of the chassis or body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flexing while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing front lower chassis brace helps to increase the rigidity of this part of the body.
