The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly pronounced due to the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of weight can cause one side of the vehicle to experience up to three times more load than the other. This can result in significant chassis flex and body deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex and deformation while driving through corners can cause unwanted handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps increase the stiffness of this part of the body.
