A car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to a force up to three times greater than the other. This can result in significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or bodywork, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The Ultra Racing front lower chassis brace helps reduce unwanted chassis movement and improve vehicle stiffness. It is intended for Kia Soul I (AM) vehicles with the 1.6 2WD engine, or the 1.6 GDI 2WD engine in the facelifted version.
