The car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is mainly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This causes significant twisting and deformation of the chassis or body, resulting in a loss of tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps limit this deformation.
