A vehicle’s chassis is subjected to significant loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When driving through a corner, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than the load on the other side. This causes the chassis or bodywork to bend and twist, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace is designed to reduce these loads and improve chassis rigidity.
- Design: front lower chassis brace
- Number of mounting points: 4
Suitable for: Mercedes-Benz M-Class II (W164).
