The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. These loads are mainly caused by the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When driving through a corner, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in the chassis or bodywork twisting and bending, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting when driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps increase the stiffness of this part of the bodywork.
