The vehicle chassis is exposed to significant loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can lead to significant chassis flex or deformation and torsion of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace additionally connects the mounting points and helps increase the stiffness of the front section of the body.
