The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is primarily due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This results in greater loads on the chassis, as well as twisting and deformation of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace is designed to reduce unwanted twisting of the front lower section of the chassis.
