The chassis is the part of the vehicle subjected to the greatest loads during fast driving. During fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration, these loads are primarily affected by weight transfer through the body.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more load than the other. This causes significant chassis flex, deformation and torsional body twisting, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and flex during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps improve the rigidity of this area.
