The car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer in a corner can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This can result in significant chassis flex, as well as body twisting and deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting in corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The interior chassis brace helps increase body rigidity in the mounting area.
