When cornering quickly, braking hard and accelerating, the vehicle chassis is subjected to significant loads, mainly due to the transfer of the body’s weight.
When driving through a corner, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes considerable chassis flex, or deformation and torsion of the body, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis flex and torsion while cornering can cause poorer handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing mid lower chassis brace helps reduce such deformation and improve body rigidity.
