The vehicle’s chassis or body is subjected to considerable loads during fast driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can result in considerable chassis flex or body deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex while driving through corners can also cause undesirable driving characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The rear frame brace is designed to increase the stiffness of the rear section of the body.
