The vehicle chassis is the part most exposed to loads while driving. These loads are mainly caused by the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This results in greater bending and twisting of the chassis or body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Bending and twisting of the chassis while cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. This rear lower chassis brace helps increase body stiffness.
