The vehicle chassis is exposed to considerable loads during fast driving, mainly due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can cause the body to twist and deform, consequently reducing tyre grip.
Chassis flex while driving through corners can also affect vehicle handling, for example by increasing understeer or oversteer. The rear lower brace helps to further connect the suspension mounting points and limit unwanted body deformation.
