A car’s chassis is among the parts subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. High loads occur mainly due to the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of mass to one side of the vehicle can result in forces up to three times greater than on the other side. This causes chassis flex and deformation, which can lead to the tyres losing grip.
Body flex while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing rear lower chassis brace helps increase body stiffness around the mounting area.
