The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer in a corner can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to 3 times greater than the other. This causes significant chassis flexing, or deformation and twisting of the body, resulting in a loss of tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while driving through a corner can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace is designed to reduce unwanted twisting of the rear section of the chassis during dynamic driving.
