The car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When weight is transferred through corners, one side of the vehicle can be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This causes significant chassis bending, deformation and twisting, resulting in a loss of tyre grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting while driving through a corner can cause unwanted handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps to further connect the mounting points and reduce unwanted body movement.
