The vehicle’s chassis or body is subjected to heavy loads during fast driving, hard braking and acceleration, mainly due to the transfer of body mass.
When driving through a corner, the load on one side of the vehicle can be up to three times greater than on the other. This causes the chassis to twist and deform, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps increase body rigidity in the mounting area.
