During fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration, the vehicle chassis is exposed to high loads caused by the transfer of the body’s weight. This load transfer can cause the chassis to twist or the body to deform.
When cornering, one side of the vehicle can be subjected to up to three times more load than the other. This results in greater chassis twisting, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation during cornering can result in poorer handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing rear torsion bar is designed to provide additional chassis reinforcement.
