The vehicle chassis is subjected to significant loads during fast driving, particularly due to the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in increased twisting and deformation of the chassis, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Twisting and deformation of the chassis when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The mid lower brace helps increase the stiffness of the lower part of the chassis.
