The vehicle’s chassis or bodywork is exposed to significant loads while driving, particularly due to weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When driving through a corner, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes the chassis to twist, or the bodywork to deform and undergo torsional twisting, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis and bodywork flexing in corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps increase the rigidity of this section of the bodywork.
- Design for the rear lower section of the chassis
- 2 mounting points
