Suitable for vehicles with an integrated active carbon filter.
Excess crankcase pressure is discharged from the engine through the PCV system, with the gases drawn into the intake manifold and burned again in the engine. This recirculated air contains oil vapour and fine oil droplets from the crankcase, which are burned by the engine. In turbocharged engines, a considerable amount of oil can enter the engine through the PCV system.
The oil catch can kit removes oil vapour, allowing it to be vented from the system and the oil to be captured. It is designed for installation on 2.0-litre FSI/TSI engines, but is not suitable for engine codes CCTA and CBFA.
On some models, depending on the market and local emissions regulations, an active carbon filter is fitted. It is located in the front section of the engine bay, on the left-hand side when facing the open bonnet. Part number FMMK5CTC is intended for models equipped with this filter.
